I prefer Oblivion due the better graphics but since it runs sucky on my PC I'd say Morrowind....I wonder if Morrowind will run on my laptop? Hrrmmmmm....

Me? I think in the end, I'd have to say that Morrowind was slightly better, overall. Yes, obviously Oblivion has prettier graphics. However, I just can't help but feel that a lot of things are missing. Things which I'd grown fond of in Morrowind and sometimes even Daggerfall, that just leave a big gap in the game. In short, BethSoft did a good job at creating the best-looking game out there, with some very solid action-game elements, but the presence of the deeper elements was badly eroded. The big things I found to be MISSING that left Morrowind feeling more "complete:[/i] - Armor Slots - I don't mind "gauntlets" as a single item, but the lack of pauldrons, makes the game's armor feel a little limited.
- Spell Effects - Add scripted effects, remove any form of teleportaion, levitation, jump, swift swim, slowfall, and blind. Transportation is very strictly limited; you MUST go through the game the way the devs wanted you to.
- City/Wilderness boundaries - Yes, this makes a big difference to me; cities feel far too cut-off this way, and Morrowind felt much better that it actually was a matter that you could go through a city without a stop. Or, if you liked, you could use several Jump spells stacked and fly over it...
- Scale - Oblivion is over twice the size of Morrowind, but feels smaller, and it's not just the view distance. Cities are too small; the Imperial City was promised to be "twice the size of Vivec," when in fact it's about half the size; the city proper is about twice as wide as one of Vivec's cantons. All of the cities feel too small, and should've been at least quadrupled in area.
- Quests - Quest lines felt too linear, particularly in the guild lines, where you are pretty much limited to doing them in sequence; in Morrowind, it was quite possible to reach the top and never touch several of the quests
In its defense, there were also a number of things that Oblivion did very well, that have already been mentioned. The combat system was a badly needed work-over, though I still saw lots of room for improvement. The guild grandmaster perks were very nice indeed, though, and for the first time, actually give the true FEELING of the status; while some have complained about the ingredient chest, the real benefit of the mages' guild is that you can grab any apprentice you want and have them follow you about. Assuming I could even get it to work on my machine, would it even be playable? I've heard some horror stories about that game... Actually I found a downloadable version of it a long time ago, but could never figure out how to get out of the first dungeon without getting myself perished... still have it around here somewhere, maybe I'll check it out later... I've seen that there are some problems getting it to tun in Widnwos 2k/XP, however, from my own experience, if you use a version of Windows 4.x, (95, 98, ME) it runs just as flawlessly as if you ran it straight from DOS; hence, I recommend a mulit-OS system, if you can dig up a copy of one of those OSes. Failing that, there are some other work-arounds, that, from my memory, do NOT involve DOSBox. My question is what happened to all the Dwemer lore in Oblivion? Theres no dwarven dungeons, no new books, and no mystery. Its like they never existed to the people in Cyrodill. I remember before the release of Oblivion, that thousands of fans were asking for more Dwemer lore, books, dungeons, and more clues as to what happened to them. But what do we get in Oblivion? Nothing but some dwarven armor and weapons. The devs never made any claim to include Dwemer Lore and the like, and in fact, Another thing they destroyed in Oblivion was the adventure aspect, I dont want to play a game to see a bunch of trees I can see 10 minutes away from my house, or even when I just look out the window. I want to play a game too see new and exciting areas, deadly creatures, old tombs, expansive cave systems, abandoned mines and towns, towns laid seige too by rebels, not 5000 of the exact same Oblivion gates, with uninspiring mazes of red. Personally, I liked the forest wilderness, but I felt that it got a little too monotonous at times, particularly compared to how varied Morrowind's regions were; there was little to distinguish each region in Oblivion. And yeah, the Oblivion gates were dissapointing after they got to repeating.

The devs never made any claim to include Dwemer Lore and the like, and in fact, They did say they were going to include more lore though, I havent seen anything I havent seen in Morrowind, and they completely removed Dwemer books from the game, they didnt just leave it, they removed it, theres two boks in the game that even touch on the subject of Dwemer, compared to the 20 in Morrowind. Its not like someone cant carry a book in a pack when their travelling, and once Dagoth Ur was killed, the quaruntine was lifted on Morrowind, how many legion soldiers would finally have their chance to come back home and see family, bring back interesting objects for their kids to look at? Seems to me nothing from Morrowind was brought over, just a few of the generic books youll see everywhere, and a few artifacts that have been in nearly every TES game. Its not that they didnt add to Dwemer lore, its that they forgot about it, despite how many people loved it, would have added to the depth of the game in my opinion, and this game can use any depth it can get.

You betchyer ! But of the two, Oblivion is definitely better. I don't know what you all see in Morrowind. It's dull, drab, slow and tedious.
