I took that before and got Midland, followed by Boston, and I forget the rest. I might take it again.

I thought it was really interesting, because it is really hard for me to try and explain american accents to other people.

Hah... so us Aussies speak in a similar fashion to people from:
The North East.
Go figure. Although I can pull off a fairly impressive American accent, also a striking Jack Nicholson one. I came to the conclusion that they were good when I convinced some tourists in Paris that I was american. The really funny thing is when I talked in an American accent to the French they flatly ignored me, then when I switched back to normal Australian they couldn't move faster to help me.. ;D

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio. I have an accent... it's just not American. I don't care that this tells me that I'm from Philly...

I got: "You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio. I guess it sorta fits, since I am from one of the big Southern cities... Southern accent was my runner up. Careful, boy.

It's not really the midwest though, technically, it's more of the mids.... unless you're talking about like, utah, colorado, nevada, montanaish... illinois is farther east isn't it? It should be like, mideast...
