Tons of cities have their own accent, SS. Boston and New York are probably the biggest ones. Pittsburghers have a unique-ish accent, we even have our own vocabulary.

Hm... well, maybe I'm just old fashioned and think a whole state should sound the same, like us oregonians... minus the people that moved here from NY or Texas...

Normally I think that race and just plain country determine majority of accent. Individually though it really comes down to language and way that you're raised. For example, I was born in (and have lived since in) a sterotypical redneck town. However I couldn't be any more the opposite in Mind, Body, Spirit, and Accent from their kind. -DL

I've heard Ian's! Of course, it's hard to tell if an accent is bad or not after hearing "Hey Shane, guess who!? I'll give you a clue, I'm not from America"

Said I was from Wisconsin actually.
"You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."
