k my computer is being retarded I recently had to change my mobo because my old one crapped out the new one is essentially the exact same thing as the last one and everything seems to be working fine until I try to install games my problem can be summed up by this www.burningsoulsforum.com/archive/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14808I can install older games no prob (ex: lords of magic, pharaoh, the sims) but when it comes to newer ones like kotor2 and oblivion I get that retarded CRC error and none of the solutions presented on that forrum helped I haven't tried defragmenting yet though so...idk

I think... I shink... You need a whole new computer with only certain components transferred over. And a monitor without built in speakers.

I think I might have inadvertently solved the problem I was looking at my hard drive and thought "that jumper looks like its in an odd place..." it was covering the pins that the picture on the hard drive case showed so I moved it to where it was when I got the hard drive and I just installed oblivion without a hitch....haven't played it yet so we'll see

Faulty RAM and faulty HD's suck. Even ignoring the taxing that all the spy-ware and viruses put on my system, it would still be slowly failing.
Why do I have so many viruses and spy-ware, you ask? Well, someone "accidentally" uninstalled the anti-virus and now I cant find the install disks.

Give your old PC away to a thrift store. A computer is never 'dead' until it literally dosen't even except the electricity being drawn into it.
