First the internet stopped working ("No network card detected" or something), and now the sound is gone ("No sound mixer available", might be slightly different, but hopefully you get the idea). The internet problem I thought might be with the wire or the modem, but the other computar(z) in the house work just fine (which is how I'm posting).
Anyway, I can't figure out what the heck's wrong with it; I'm retarded when it comes to technical things, I admit it, but if you have any ideas, please tell me. The virus scan I did a day or so ago turned up nothing, so I don't think it's that. A member of my Guild Warz guild thinks it's a dying motherboard, think he's right?
I've managed to get my 7 year old PC working again (Morrowind, woot!), but I'd like the one that can run all my games to be working (and I forgot my e-mail password that Thunderbird inputs automatically so I can't check it - sigh).
Thanks in advance,
Thor

Some PC's come with a sound card/modem/lan combo PCI card. If the driver or card itself fails then you loose those 2-3 functions. If your network adapter and sound device are integrated on your motherboard that could possibly mean 3 things:
1. Your mobo is dying (least likley) 2. Your integrated devices have been disabled in the BIOS/CMOS 3. Your Power Supply Unit (PSU) is failing (most likely)
