Yeah, i've gone to see a few movies on my own, and will continue to do so.
I guess I just hate being with people who insist on talking during important bits or something.
I've gone once with a friend who was drunk, who kept talking really damn loud. We left after half an hour, as I decided i'd go see it on my own in the next few days... Didnt' want to see what was going on, and miss what was being said, and ruin it for watching it ever again.
I've no problem with the fact he was drinking, or anything, but the fact he had to keep bloody talking.

I won't do it. I'm the worst movie goer ever; I have to make fun of movies while they are in progress of showing XD but at least I whisper to the people next to me.....I love our "local" theater because when you go to the late showings the stoners show up. I remember when I went to see PotC (the original one) and a guy was amazed that he could look straight ahead and still see at the sides out of the corner of his eyes.
unless the movie is actually good. Then I stay quiet. But I haaaaate going to stuff by myself. I even hate driving by myself (if like a whole bunch of us are going somewhere)

I prefer being alone, as a general rule.

Just thinking back to what I heard some people say on the issue about people who go to see a film on their own "They only go to the cinema to see a film, not to go and have fun."
Am I the only one who thinks that logic is foolish?

You go to a movie to have fun. Who says that?

Depends really. Some movies I'm going for the movie experience, ala Requiem for a Dream. Yet some are more for the whole fun factor, like PotC: Dead mans chest.

I go to the theatre only once or twice a year. Even then its only to get my friends to stop nagging me to go. So no, I've never gone alone and probably never will.

I haven't gone on my own yet, but I hardly ever go in the first place. I've only been to see stuff that I absolutely can't wait for the dvd, like LotR and Star Wars (they were disappointing ), and that's either with friends or family.

I went and saw all 3 LotR movies back to back by myself. Be afraid... be very afraid.

Its not that weird to go alone, but going alone to a LotR film adds like a 100 points on the weird scale

Well, none of my friends wanted to go with me and sit through 9 hours of movies back to back. And I'm confident enough to not care and go by myself. What do I care what people think?

What do I care what people think? I think "Fairy Princess" answers that one Yeah, I know, I don't really care much what people say either, and I have, and will continue to go to films on my own.

I went and saw all 3 LotR movies back to back by myself. Be afraid... be very afraid. Now that's devotion! Or boredom. I did that once. But there were friends, beer, sammiches and pizza, and it was at a friend's house.

Because they're films i've seen a few times on my own, anyway, and read the books a load of times, I think that sounds pretty cool.

oh man the major films I really hate going by myself...I love having people to discuss the movie with afterwards. I watched King Kong with my best friend and one of our other friends...we had a blast being like.....woooooooow. AND DID I MENTION ADRIEN BRODY WAS SO HOT IN THAT MOVIE?

Yes, you have a very valid point there.

I like to go by myself as much as possible. My friends don't usually sit down and pay that much attention to the film, and whisper and giggle all the way though. It annoys me a little, as I'm trying to watch something that I paid good money to see. However, they are fun to be around with though, so around 80% of films that I go to see I am usually alone and by myself. I'm quite an independant character.
