Er... I take it this is more proof Bush is bad? What do you expect?? It's a calculated political maneuver to try to shift focus away from his wrongdoings to "Those flamin' liberals!". ;D

To be honest, at least the U.S. government isn't allowing Bush to pull a Putin. So that puts an end to all comparisons to a fascist state I think.

No, I meant Mister TheStranger likes to say the US is a fascist state, and I was pointing out that the general outrage in the country over the NSA, the PATRIOT act, and Congress not renewing it proves the US isn't anywhere close to a fascist state, given that Bush hasn't been allowed to do what President Putin has done in Russia.

One of the key aspects of fascism is the suppression of opposition through terror and censorship.
Bush has capitalized on "the war on terror" to further tighten his control through such cases as the PATRIOT Act.
Considering these meetings were "off the record," they most certainly are not a true breach of national security and are indeed censorship through bribery to hide his shady practices from the public.
Smells like fascism to me.

Smells like fascism to me. Indeed. It is more fascist than the rule of Emperor Shaddam IV.

This isn't exactly news to those of us who have been awake for the past few years, Bush clearly is a neo-fascist-fundmentalist. He's been surpressing the press, not really a big shock. Since when did GW let the Constitution get in the way of his agenda? Anybody remember the PATRIOT Act? How about this abortion and gay marriage thing?
And DH, the US is slipping slowly into fascism. It may just be a matter of time if the moronic Jesusland people can't realize for a few minutes that while they may be very into the Christian religion, not everyone is and the people they are electing to enforce their religion are taking other freedoms down with the freedom of religion.
