see, this is why I hate PETA and exremist groups of that nature. They give good environmental conservationists bad reps because of they and Greenpeace and other moron brigades do crap like that and don't focus on any sort of cause, they just go out to stir and sound important.

Ahhh, isolated extremist violence, causing problems for the world since 3500 BC.
You see, the problem with this type of things is that it it hurts both sides. The animal rights activists aren't numerous to cause actual fear, so their agenda is only hurt by these efforts. The people on the other side of the fence are hurt, since they are physically attacked.
If the animal rights advocates are going to accomplish things, they need to set reachable goals. They also need to use non-violent protests. The most successful protests in the world were (largely) non-violent (India's, South Africa's end to apartied, America's Civil Rights).
Extremism is what holds back Animal Rights. People would be more open to killing animals through more humane needs if the groups that advocated it didn't pull stunt like this.

What is this world coming to? "Isolated extremist violence", as Ratwar so eloquently put it, sounds alot like "home grown terrorism" to me! (a job for the Feds) But for their sakes, hope they don't decide to pick on bunch of good 'ol boys on a deer hunt. It'll be war in the woods.

I'd just like to see these guys come over to the states and pick a fight with some deer hunters. The problem would be solved, that's for sure.

I am not suprised really... Different people have different priorities...? I think thats the word I am looking for. As well as placing different values on different things, and struggle to protect, what they value, and to rid of what threatens what they value.
Extreme animal rights types, and those on the other extreme spectrum, who care for humans only... Of course, are destined to be in immense conflict. As their views, values, and such all contradict. I am not suprised really.
So long as people place high importance, and enforcements, on different things, which may conflict with others, there will always be such conflict I assume.

As well as placing different values on different things, and struggle to protect, what they value, and to rid of what threatens what they value. I think the word you were looking for is "ideology". And when they become intolerant of other people's ideology, and resort to terror tactics, it is then that they themselves become intolerable.

Or as one NPO member suggested (I pulled this from the NPO boards), use ALF members for Medicinal and Cosmetic testing! That way, the animals win, and they win because they accomplished their goal, while contracting numerous fatalities and disease amongst their lot. Of course, that's not humane, but, I think the post was made in jest anyhow. Yes, the ALF and PETA really put a negative spin on Animal Rights, especially ALF, since they are the most violent.

I hope Pamela Anderson tries to start a fight with me when I'm eating a steak. I'll pull a scary movie on her and stab her boob with a steak knife.

Extremism is what holds back Animal Rights. Extremism holds back everything. People need to learn to get along.

I admit I've 'liberated' zoos, blown up damns, murdered fishermen, and splashed fur coats with blood before, but I hope I don't sound like a hypocrite when I say that this is naners.

I'm right. see? Admin. So um yeah.... Mighty Morphin Power Censor! PETA *clears throat* it seems to me that people such as these are making the "real" activists look bad, I think the "real" ones should rise up and clense the usurpers and posers in their midst sidenote to Vinya: I was most definitely correct
